Since opening Bohler DC in 2014, Sheila Nale, PE has been vital to the company’s growth, guiding her team in identifying new opportunities for our clients and staff. As a new Associate, Sheila aims to strengthen existing relationships with owners and developers throughout the region while continuing to build her internal team.

Working on the Waterfront
Sheila specializes in the design of waterfront redevelopments like Capital Riverfront and Buzzard Point. Developing in these areas can be challenging, and floodplain regulations are a top concern. Sheila’s team is monitoring pending updates to D.C.’s floodplain regulations, recommending proactive discussions with the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), and engaging directly with the DOEE to implement new designs on an active multiblock project.
Active in Arlington
In addition to her work throughout the District, Sheila is Bohler DC’s lead on Arlington, VA projects. Currently, Sheila is overseeing design and permitting for 750 N Glebe,- an 890,000-SF mixed-use project in the heart of Arlington. The building will include 491 apartment units and 60,000 SF of ground floor retail space, including a Target. In 2020, the project received the NAIOP Northern Virginia Award of Excellence for Best Mixed-Use Project.
Supporting Women Throughout the Industry
As an active member of the District’s CRE industry, Sheila dedicates her time out of the office to ULI Washington. Through the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Circles Committee and Young Leaders Group, Sheila leads roundtable discussions around topics including leadership, workplace culture, negotiation, work-life balance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She serves as a role model and strives to inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
Within Bohler DC, Sheila is a a founding member of the firm’s Women's Professional Network. In this leadership role, Sheila works alongside her colleagues to provide a variety of networking and professional development opportunities for young women.
